Why use the sinner's prayer?
We are not saved by repeating a prayer but if you need help finding the words to ask God for salvation and the forgiveness of your sins. The sinner's prayer is a great help.
Just make sure you start praying to God from your heart. Read Scripture and learn who God is and what is pleasing to him. God knows everything about you, so you should seek to learn everything about him.
God does answer prayers, but he is not a genie that exist to grant you wishes.
We are sinners and deserve hell. That is all that we deserve. However, because God loved the world, he sent his son to be crucified and die on the cross for our sins. Seek God, read the bible, and pray daily.
Jesus Christ is our lord and savior. You can pray to him and have fellowship with him. Jesus said if you ask your father in heaven for anything in my name, he will Give it to you.
However, you have to understand that God answers prayers that align with his will. He knows everything that is going to happen.
He answers prayers on his timetable not ours. God has a plan for your life and a plan for the world. Our prayers cannot be in conflict with God's will.
Below is a Biblical example of The Sinners Prayer
Dear God, I know that I'm a sinner and I need a savior.
I repent from my sin of unbelief. I know your son Jesus Christ died for me.
I believe in my heart that you raised Him from the dead.
At this very moment, I accept, confess, and proclaim Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior.
Thank you, Jesus, for your Grace that has saved me from my sins and has given me eternal life.
Please send the Holy Spirit to guide me, and to help me do your will for the rest of my life.
