Is Jesus found in the Old Testament?
there's a lot of people that will sometimes be challenged um by people of other faiths to and they'll specifically just challenge them and say well where's jesus in the old testament you know there's no mention of jesus anywhere in the old testament now of course nothing could be further from the truth so i think it's not only to highlight where jesus of course is mentioned or referenced in the old testament but also to equip some people as well with the word of god which is the most important thing of all so do you have any opening comments on that bro no i agree with you that that there's many messianic prophecies what's so wonderful is that they pinpoint and when you look at you know how many people were were born in bethlehem uh how many of them were born before the destruction of the second temple how many was from the the lineage of david and can prove that and you go on and on and the percent of people are so miniscule and then when you look at acid diet passover and all the things that that prophecy demands it is truly miraculous and and an encouragement to see how specific and precise the word of god is and it we have to arrive at the conclusion only one person could fulfill all of those prophecies that's right amen and uh interesting when i was preparing for this i noticed i did a study that there's over 351 prophecies in the old testament about jesus which is remarkable i mean absolutely remarkable so like you said we're going to be looking at this um any reference to jesus in either his lineage or his birth his ministry death and resurrection but we do understand of course that there are many many more scriptures that we could be using but once again in the context of time we've just selected a handful that will really uh show unequivocal clarity of pointing jesus in the old testament so if you're ready baroque let's begin let's begin okay so the first scripture we'll be looking at today is psalm two verse seven i believe all of some two is of course an excellent point of reference but let's look at uh verse seven i will declare and decree the lord has said to me you are my son today i have begotten you your comments well first of all that last part today i have begotten you this does not relate to his beginning it's simply this word is where we get the the noun a child from a boy specifically or a girl and it basically is related to a manifestation a presentation so we know that he was conceived before he was born and also we know that he's the eternal son of god there was never a time he did not exist so this scripture is simply saying when he entered into the world was manifested that he was able to be seen and of course he was sent here when it says you are my son it's speaking about he has been given a task an assignment that there is a purpose for his revealing his manifestation to the world amen thank you isaiah 7 14 therefore the lord himself will give you a sign behold the virgin shall conceive and bear a son and shall call his name emmanuel your comments bro well i think what's very important about this is that it says the lord himself will give you a sign and this word in hebrew is oat and it just doesn't relate to a miracle but it relates to something that only god could do and therefore if we look at that word version the word alman in hebrew many people in fact some bibles translate like the rsv translate and says it's a young woman it doesn't mean a virgin just means a young woman this is a false statement and it if that was the case first of all from the meaning of the word that's not accurate but secondly the context does not mean at all simply a young woman because if a young woman conceives and bear a son well that happens every day there's nothing miraculous that's not an oat that's not a sign so we need to be true to the scripture and be able to respond to people that say well it doesn't mean a virgin just means a young woman that is not the case the word alma means a young woman who is not married and who is righteous so if there's a woman who is righteous and she's not married she's going to be a virgin and and this is why this scripture is so specific as well and because she conceives in a miraculous way we know that this is the means for the incarnation where god has visited his people and we have that very important name emmanuel which is really three hebrew words all put together in meaning with nu is a short form for anathenum meaning we or us so with us and then of course el god so it shows how god came to us how he is with us and that is accomplished not just by the incarnation but what we talked about in the previous slide and that is his sonship which can be related to servanthood his call so these scriptures work very nicely together to tell the story of the plan of redemption that god god put into to force amen thank you next scripture we'll be looking at is in zechariah 9 9 rejoice greatly o daughter of zion shout out of jerusalem behold your king is coming to you he is just and having salvation lonely and riding on a donkey a cult the fowl of a donkey uh very very prophetic scriptures of the entry of messiah into jerusalem but over you for your comments now this scripture speaks about messiah and judaism says there's two messiahs there's that suffering servant that comes lowly or humbly and one who comes miraculously coming in the clouds and judaism for the most part today and based upon something that was written long ago says basically if we do not merit redemption he'll come this way from zechariah 9. but if we merit redemption meaning we're we're spiritually good and acceptable god who'll come in that supernatural way coming in the clouds well we know that that scripture does not allow us to pick and choose nor are there going to be as judaism teaches it says that there are some prophecies that's not going to be fulfilled they're going to be canceled out or if there's a scenario if these prophecies for this scenario these other prophecies for that scenario this is false every prophecy is going to be fulfilled and what's important about this and this is a scripture that i i use frequently in the synagogue when sharing and that is notice it says your king now king certainly has to do with ben david the son of david meaning that that messiah that comes in the cloud but here the term king is used for him coming lowly and this is against what judaism teaches the king doesn't come lowly the the suffering servant comes lowly not the king they have two this proves that there's not two messiahs there's one messiah but he has two distinct roles and come at two distinct times so the more we we look into the scripture it confirms what was said earlier and that is how marvelous and specific and and trustworthy and dependable the word of god is in order to lead us to the truth so we have the right conclusions and that we can see things from the perspective that god shares with us through his word amen powerful scriptures isaiah 53 of course i always encourage everyone to read all of isaiah 53 it's just so beautiful and a powerful scripture however we're just going to look at isaiah 53 7. he was oppressed and he was afflicted yet he opened not his mouth he was led as a lamb to the slaughter and as a sheep before his shearers is silent so he opened not his mouth i mean this this is it is so accurate about how he came as the lamb of god um i still can't and i'm still amazed till today that people can still refute this but um over to you bro for your comments well first of all what what needs to be said is to clarify a blatant false statement that that we hear coming frequently from from rabbis and many of the jewish community are just uh unaware the the primary rabbinical response isaiah 53 is that it's not speaking about about messiah whether it's speaking about the nation of israel well we have a problem with that because for example rashi when he speaks of of this prophecy that appears in the the talmud in what's known as the gemara the main section of the talmud in in masechet sanhedrin he says that isaiah 53 is clearly referring to messiah and says based upon isaiah 53 we get one of the names and that means one of the characteristic traits of messiah now then for when he speaks about isaiah 53 not from the talmud but just straight i believe it's redacted and it's not originally rashi because he wouldn't disagree with himself it says oh it's speaking about the the jewish people the thing that we have to remember is this i don't believe the talmud is inspired by god i don't accept it as scripture but orthodox judaism does and so because of that the talmud says that isaiah 53 is speaking about messiah now that's just not rashi's interpretation of it it says it outright so no one who's an orthodox follower of judaism one who's orthodox follower of judaism cannot say it's impossible it doesn't matter what rashi says the gemara says isaiah 53 speaks of messiah so that settles it from from the position of judaism judaism must be submissive to to the talmud now getting to the text itself as we talked about i think in an earlier study the fact that he was silent the fact that he submitted the fact that he didn't cry out he didn't plea he didn't run away or anything like that shows how strong he is that he came to fulfill his father's purpose he submitted to that he submitted to even death on a cross and all the torturous things that they go along with that and what he suffered leading up to it so this speaks about such power such humility such submissiveness such obedience amen thank you zechariah 12 10 and i will pour out on the house of david and the inhabitants of jerusalem the spirit of grace and supplication then they will look on me whom they pierce yes they will mourn for him as one mourns for his only son and grieve for him as one grieves for a firstborn there's so much that that verse has first of all the phrase bet david the house of david is so important because it's used prophetically to speak to followers of the messiah and so he is going to for those who are going to come to faith at that time and speaking about after the rapture it is a prophecy that primarily is is in relationship to israel that one-third that's going to come to faith and notice how grace is is mentioned here that spirit of grace and the term supplication comes from the word that that's grace so it's just in a verbal form what's supplicating biblically supplicating is seeking god's grace petitioning god for that grace and it mentions here about messiah and here again a messianic prophecy for sure we see that revelation confirms that other places as well but he's going to be pierce that's related to the crucifixion and we see that one's going to mourn him as he does for one's only son or firstborn that's 30 days we won't go into it now but according to daniel's prophecy there's something significant about israel receiving messiah at the end of this age at the end of daniel's 17th week and there's going to be a period of mourning and that period of mourning is going to be 30 days which is the morning for a first-born son or an only son so this scripture pinpoints things it deals with some traditional things and the number 30 relates to to death and there's much more we can say about it but again prophecy must be received and the more we study prophecy is going to give us a better vantage point for understanding the the wonderful revelation in the new covenant so prophecy as the book of revelation says in chapter 19 prophecy really reveals to us the testimony of christ so if you want to understand the person and work of messiah prophecy is where you go because it declares describes and and defines so much about messiah amen thank you psalm 22 18 they divide my garments among them and for my clothing they cast lots obviously this is uh during the crucifixion but for your comments you know uh not too long ago there were some people visiting i met them in jerusalem and and you have been there a christian and your family you can go to the actual pavement outside the the roman compound and and see the place where one of the places we don't know if it's the exact place but where there was this game that they would gamble and and it's it's inscribed on one of the stones the stone floor in a courtyard so that gives us some archaeological evidence to support this but again we know biblically the new covenant says this is what they did which was not uncommon nothing needed to be wasted or thrown away or just ignored people used everything that they had very different than today they wanted his garments and we know something his garment was not a normal one it was one that was made very uniquely uh uh sewn together i won't go into it but but it was like seamless and and that meant it was skillfully made it would have been been a a shame for for someone to to cut cut it up so all of this confirms and and it's only when you read the the scripture carefully and find out about his garment then it confirms why that they would want to cast lots for it because it was of of of great workmanship it wasn't the cheapest type of garment that that one would have and so all these things are confirmed in the word of god i mean thank you with pinpoint accuracy on my head psalm 16 verse 10 for you will not leave my soul in show nor you will allow your holy one to see corruption i mean i'll hand over to you but this also such a powerful scripture that tells us so much especially about the resurrection in a way so over your book yeah i i agree strongly it speaks about the the resurrection and the fact that uh he was not uh in shoal in the sense of decay what this says but but something so important about that is that messiah says i i have the power to lay down my life and i also have the power to take it up that's true but prophetically he wasn't going to do that he has the power to do that but he's always submissive and this speaks about how he trusted his heavenly father and as we we talked about uh another study that that the sun is always submissive the sun is an example to us of one who always obeys his heavenly father and the message is that's what you and i need to do so this is just speaking about how he trusted based upon this this prophetic passage again from the book of psalms that that he would not be left there and the resurrection one very important thing about it if you ask someone well what's the main message of the resurrection the main message of the resurrection is that god accepted his work the fact that god raised him from the dead is a confirmation that that that work upon the cross was received by the father as perfect as as achieving what it was called to achieve other things about the resurrection but that's a a major point and we just see again a prophecy that that foretells that the messiah is going to be resurrected so again marvelous thank you for that now this in my mind is one of the most powerful scriptures that i have come across so if anyone's still challenging i would always go back to the person and just share this scripture with them and ask them the question give me your response who are they talking about here proverbs 30 verse 40 who has descent ascended into the heavens or descended who has gathered the wind of his fist who has bound the waters in a garment who has established all the ends of the earth what is his name and what is his son's name if you know your comments it's it's interesting if you uh listen to someone like tovia singer who's uh against the faith uh he is a a i don't know if he's a rabbit or not uh officially but but let's just say that he is uh he's fairly well known uh his answer to this question is that it's moses is who it's talking about that moses did these things well to get moses when you hear the explanation from judaism concerning it it's it's utterly ridiculous how how they spiritualized symbolic uh it just obviously when it says what is his name is referring to god god does these things not man and then it says that god has a son and again a very excellent scripture to go to to say the bible does speak about the son of god not frequently but one times in us enough so there is a son of god and this is an excellent scripture for for sharing and i can say in my experience when people read that it really causes them to ponder and then when they read the rabbinical explanation for why it's moses they're not convinced and so it really strengthens our position amen so uh just before i hand over to you or bring your final comments i think that this this is a short video that i certainly enjoyed i think that it certainly once again uh highlights the pinpoint accuracy and perfection of scripture especially regarding yeshua messiah in the old testament but over you for your final comments one thing one thing i'll say is that it's very frequent and i i knew the number was high i did not know if i remember right you said there was 350 the other 351 yeah amazing and one of the things that i always share with people is that many times people say you know yeshua has fulfilled all of them we need to remember that there are prophecies and i don't know if the 350 uh what prophecies that they speak to but there are prophecies that have yet to be fulfilled and we know why he's going to do that when he comes the second time so i am fully convinced no doubt whatsoever that every messianic prophecy is going to be fulfilled by yeshua jesus christ those that have yet to be fulfilled when he returns he's going to fulfill them all you will never regret you will never have disappointment when you receive him as your lord and savior he is indeed israel's messiah and the world's messiah and and one must if they're going to find that forgiveness if they're going to find that peace if they're going to find god's provision to serve him and to walk in this world in a meaningful way bringing honor to to god the father the only way is through receiving the gospel having messiah as your lord and savior and and walking with him i've never talked to anyone who makes that decision who commits to him and regrets it in fact they grow in joy and messiah is simply and i'll speak for myself he he continues every day to con to confirm all these things and we grow in our faith and we grow in our commitment and we grow in our understanding that the word of god just like you said pinpoint accuracy amen and we've said in previous videos brothers or sisters or people that may be watching this that haven't come to faith in yeshua and jesus yet the clock is ticking away very fast and even if jesus returns in 5 10 20 years uh none of us are guaranteed tomorrow we none of us know what will happen to us tomorrow so make you sure jesus christ the lord of your life today thank you baruch i've been blessed by today's teachings if you've been blessed by today's teaching if you haven't subscribed to the channel yet please do so so subscribe share and like this video once again bro thank you very much and i pray thank you and i pray that everyone that's watching this video has been blessed so from baruch and israel for myself here in sydney australia shalom and god bless you you English in this video we're going to take a look 00:00:10.519at every book of the Old Testament and 00:00:12.880find at least one prophecy about Jesus 00:00:16.039this video is by no means exhaustive but 00:00:18.080should give you a good foundation of 00:00:19.520where to start before we get started 00:00:22.199Please Subscribe like this video and 00:00:24.240don't forget to share it with anybody 00:00:25.840you think might need it all right let's 00:00:27.800jump right into it two specific prophecy 00:00:30.359in the Book of Genesis about Jesus 00:00:32.840firstly the book prophesied that the 00:00:35.120Messiah would be born of the seed of a 00:00:37.640woman take a look at Genesis 00:00:40.7603:15 it says and I will put enmity 00:00:44.079between you and the woman and between 00:00:46.039your Offspring and hers he will crush 00:00:48.399your head and you will strike his heel 00:00:51.079referring to the serpent and of course 00:00:54.680if we look at the New Testament Luke 1: 00:00:58.12034-35 you'll see when Mary asked the 00:01:00.960angel how will this be that she's going 00:01:03.840to give birth since she is a virgin 00:01:06.119after all in verse 35 the angel answered 00:01:09.040the holy spirit will come on you and the 00:01:11.159power of the most high will overshadow 00:01:13.520you so the Holy One to be born will be 00:01:15.640called the the Son of God now just a 00:01:18.479side note here the same word used for o 00:01:21.840overshadow is the same one used in the 00:01:24.240Old Testament where God's spirit 00:01:26.560overshadowed the Ark of the Covenant why 00:01:29.159is this important there are many reasons 00:01:31.240when we get to the Book of Exodus we'll 00:01:33.200refer back to this now the second thing 00:01:36.079or the second prophecy I want to point 00:01:37.799out is that the Messiah Jesus would be a 00:01:42.240king from the line of Judah take a look 00:01:44.759at Genesis 49 verse 10 the scepter will 00:01:48.079not depart from Judah nor the ruler 00:01:50.280staff from between his feet until he to 00:01:53.479whom it belong shall come and The 00:01:55.240Obedience of the Nations shall be his 00:01:58.439that is when the Messiah the king of 00:02:00.439Israel comes he shall be from the line 00:02:02.960of Judah take a look in the New 00:02:04.960Testament John 00:02:07.3601:49 then Nathaniel declared Rabbi you 00:02:10.758are the Son of God you are the king of 00:02:13.920Israel now let's move on to the Book of 00:02:16.519Exodus and two prophecies about Jesus I 00:02:19.120want to point out here firstly and 00:02:22.280perhaps most 00:02:23.480importantly in Exodus 12 what was the 00:02:27.480function of the Passover Lamb the lamb 00:02:29.519that was to be sacrificed now I will be 00:02:32.239doing another video on the Passover Lamb 00:02:34.760as it will take up some time and I can't 00:02:36.760cover it in this video but take a look 00:02:39.840what John the Baptist says in the New 00:02:41.480Testament in the Book of John 1: 29 and 00:02:44.959the next day John saw Jesus coming 00:02:47.560toward him and said look the Lamb of God 00:02:50.840who takes away the sin of the world 00:02:53.480exactly the function of the Passover 00:02:55.480Lamb in the Old Testament and the second 00:02:57.840prophecy I want to point out is that 00:03:00.239Jesus would be the Mana from Heaven 00:03:02.720literally when the Israelites were stuck 00:03:04.200in the desert God fed them with Mana 00:03:06.560that fell from the skies it didn't 00:03:08.840really fall and again I'll be doing 00:03:10.159another video of what Mana really means 00:03:12.360but I want you to notice a couple things 00:03:14.799Jesus himself said I am the bread of 00:03:17.799life your forefathers ate the Mana in 00:03:20.519the wilderness and yet they died but 00:03:23.440this is the bread that comes down from 00:03:25.040heaven talking about himself so that 00:03:27.879anyone may eat of it and never die I 00:03:31.840myself am the living bread now Take a 00:03:34.760Look what Jesus says in the Book of John 00:03:37.319chapter 6 beginning in verse 31 our 00:03:40.799ancestors ate the Mana in the wilderness 00:03:43.200as it is written he gave them bread from 00:03:45.439Heaven to eat Jesus said to them very 00:03:48.040truly I tell you it is not Moses who has 00:03:50.560given you the bread from heaven but it 00:03:52.439is my father who gives you the true 00:03:54.000bread from heaven for the bread of God 00:03:55.879is the bread that comes down from heaven 00:03:57.920and gives life to the world and do you 00:04:00.239remember my point in Genesis how the 00:04:03.799Holy Spirit would overshadow Mary just 00:04:06.720as it did the Ark of the Covenant well 00:04:08.920what was one of the things in the Ark of 00:04:10.640the Covenant it was Mana Jesus was in 00:04:15.360the ark or the typified Ark of the 00:04:18.478Covenant in Mary and he was the Mana 00:04:21.399moving on to the Book of Leviticus now 00:04:23.680in this book the main prophecy about 00:04:26.479Jesus is that he is the emphasis 00:04:30.320the high priest Leviticus 16 outlines 00:04:35.919the high priest's Duty on the day of 00:04:37.960atonement now without getting into 00:04:39.840detail because this does deserve its own 00:04:42.919video I'll just quickly summarize that 00:04:45.400Jesus is the high priest however the 00:04:48.800sacrifice is not the blood of gos and 00:04:52.520calves but rather his own body his own 00:04:56.160blood take a look at Hebrews 9: 11 00:05:00.039through 14 but when Christ appeared as 00:05:02.479the high priest of the good things to 00:05:04.039come he entered through the greater and 00:05:05.919more perfect Tabernacle not made with 00:05:09.000hands that is to say not of this 00:05:11.520creation and not through the blood of 00:05:13.320goats and calves but through his own 00:05:15.840blood he entered the holy Place once for 00:05:19.120all having obtained Eternal 00:05:21.800Redemption moving on to the Book of 00:05:23.800Numbers there are a couple prophecies 00:05:26.960here mainly that the Messiah would 00:05:29.240become king take a look at Numbers 00:05:31.639chapter 24 and that the Messiah Jesus 00:05:35.639would be the water from the rock read 00:05:37.440Numbers Chapter 20 but my favorite is 00:05:41.560that the Messiah would be typified in 00:05:43.600the bronze 00:05:44.800serpent when the Israelites were led 00:05:46.880into the desert they complained to Moses 00:05:49.880take a look at Numbers chapter 21 and 00:05:52.319they said to Moses why have you L us 00:05:54.160here is it to Die Why did you take us s 00:05:56.680from Egypt and so the Lord sent snakes 00:05:59.639so that many of the Israelites died and 00:06:02.160what do they do they ask Moses to 00:06:04.199intercede for them and he does so the 00:06:07.680Lord God says beginning in verse 8 of 00:06:12.000chapter 21 the Lord says to Moses make a 00:06:15.240snake image and mount it on a 00:06:17.759pole when anyone who is bitten looks at 00:06:20.400it he will recover so Moses made a 00:06:23.319bronze snake and mounted it on a pole 00:06:25.880whenever someone Was Bitten and he 00:06:27.840looked at the bronze snake he he 00:06:29.759recovered that is they would live and 00:06:32.080not die what's great about this Old 00:06:34.440Testament passage is in the Old 00:06:36.919Testament when you doubted what the Lord 00:06:38.759had already promised bad things would 00:06:41.599happen but he would always provide a way 00:06:45.160out so long as you repented that is you 00:06:49.120changed your 00:06:50.319mind now take a look at what Jesus says 00:06:52.720to Nicodemus in the Book of John chapter 00:06:54.9603 Nicodemus said to Jesus how can these 00:06:58.520things be Jesus answered him are you the 00:07:01.440teacher of Israel and yet you do not 00:07:04.240understand these things truly truly I 00:07:06.800say to you we speak of what we know and 00:07:09.000bear witness to what we have seen but 00:07:11.080you do not receive our testimony if I 00:07:14.319have told you Earthly things and you do 00:07:16.199not believe how can you believe if I 00:07:18.960tell you Heavenly things no one has 00:07:21.680ascended into heaven except he who 00:07:24.080descended from Heaven the son of man and 00:07:27.000now listen watch this in verse 14 he say 00:07:29.560says and as Moses lifted up the serpent 00:07:32.479in the wilderness so must the son of man 00:07:34.919be lifted up that whoever believes in 00:07:37.080him may have eternal life notice 00:07:40.479something in the old test when you 00:07:42.319looked upon the bronze snake you would 00:07:44.159be resuscitated and then of course later 00:07:46.520you die your natural death what Jesus is 00:07:48.840saying is now when you look upon him who 00:07:51.840is lifted up the son of man you will 00:07:54.120have eternal life that is though you may 00:07:56.360die physically you shall live forever 00:07:59.039moving on to the book of Deuteronomy the 00:08:01.280main prophecy here is that the Messiah 00:08:04.319the Christ will be a prophet like Moses 00:08:08.080take a look at Deuteronomy 18: 00:08:10.87915-19 the Lord your God will raise up 00:08:13.639for you a prophet like me Moses from 00:08:16.919among you from your fellow Israelites 00:08:19.960you must listen to him for this is what 00:08:22.199you asked of the Lord your God at Horeb 00:08:25.159on the day of the assembly when you said 00:08:27.720let us not hear the voice of the Lord 00:08:29.960Our God this is a very popular and 00:08:32.599well-known passage among the Jews 00:08:34.958throughout the history this is one of 00:08:36.599the verses they use to say that the 00:08:39.679Messiah whom they believe is not Jesus 00:08:42.479would be Moses or a type of Moses or 00:08:45.240greater than Moses rather now take a 00:08:47.640look at John 6:14 after the people saw 00:08:50.920the sign Jesus performed what sign was 00:08:53.240that that he fed the 5,000 remember that 00:08:55.880story go back and read it starts at 00:08:58.120verse one they began to say surely this 00:09:00.760is the prophet like Moses who is to come 00:09:03.880into the world now notice how that 00:09:07.079Miracle had to do with feeding the 5,000 00:09:10.000with bread just like when the Israelites 00:09:13.000were wandering in the desert with Moses 00:09:15.640and they were fed the bread from Heaven 00:09:17.720the Mana now moving on to the Book of 00:09:19.920Joshua Jesus is both typified and it is 00:09:23.079prophesy that he is the commander of the 00:09:24.920Lord's army take a listen here beginning 00:09:27.720in Joshua 5:13 00:09:29.880when Joshua was near Jericho he looked 00:09:32.000up and saw a man standing in front of 00:09:34.760him with a drawn sword in his hand 00:09:37.160Joshua approached him and asked are you 00:09:39.519for us or for our enemies neither he 00:09:42.640replied that is the man I have now come 00:09:45.399as the commander of the Lord's army that 00:09:48.120is of yahweh's army then Joshua bowed 00:09:50.760with his face to the ground in worship 00:09:53.200and asked the man what does my Lord want 00:09:56.360to say to his servant the commander of 00:09:58.760the Lord's army said to Joshua remove 00:10:01.000the sandals from your feet for the place 00:10:03.320where you are standing is Holy and 00:10:05.440Joshua did so now notice a couple things 00:10:09.000Joshua sees someone who's both man and 00:10:12.680Lord he's the commander of the army this 00:10:15.760is what we call a theophany an 00:10:18.320appearance of the holy God and notice 00:10:20.519also that the commander of the Lord's 00:10:22.560army says for Joshua to remove his 00:10:24.800sandals because the place he is standing 00:10:27.279is Holy where do we hear that before 00:10:30.560when the Lord commanded Moses in the 00:10:32.200burning bush moving on to the Book of 00:10:34.360Judges and we'll move a little quicker 00:10:36.320through some of these books but in the 00:10:38.240Book of Judges Jesus is typified as the 00:10:41.959judge and lawgiver now on to the Book of 00:10:44.519Ruth it is prophesied that the Messiah 00:10:47.279Jesus would be a direct descendant of of 00:10:49.560Boaz who married Ruth take a look at 00:10:51.839Ruth 4: 12-1 17 now as you move along in 00:10:56.200the Book of Ruth right at the end as it 00:10:59.000is describing or explaining David's 00:11:01.560genealogy it says an OED father Jesse 00:11:05.040who Father David that is King David now 00:11:07.959Jesus is a direct descendant of David 00:11:11.320read the genealogy in Matthew chapter 1 00:11:14.839beginning in verse one therefore he is a 00:11:17.880direct descendant of Ruth and Boaz and 00:11:20.760they are actually listed in verse 5 of 00:11:23.320Matthew chapter 1 moving on to 1 and 2 00:11:26.360Samuel the Messiah would be the Rock 2 00:11:29.920Samuel 23: 2 and 3 the spirit of the 00:11:33.360Lord spoke through me his word was on my 00:11:35.519tongue the god of Israel spoke the rock 00:11:38.880of Israel said to me when one rules over 00:11:41.639people in righteousness when he rules in 00:11:43.959the fear of God now take a look at 1 00:11:46.440Corinthians 00:11:48.00010:4 and drank the same spiritual drink 00:11:51.200for they drank from the spiritual rock 00:11:53.160that accompanied them and that rock was 00:11:56.320Christ moving on to First and 2 Kings 00:11:59.480one of the most prominent prophecies is 00:12:01.399in the life and miracles of the Prophet 00:12:03.600Elisha remember when a man from Bale 00:12:07.880shalisa came to Alisha and said what am 00:12:11.600I to set 20 loaves before 100 men and 00:12:14.279what did Alisha say give it to the 00:12:16.440people to eat Elisha said for this is 00:12:19.600what the Lord says they will eat and 00:12:21.320they will have some left over so he gave 00:12:24.120it to them and the Lord had promised 00:12:26.120they ate and had some left over again 00:12:28.480where do we see this 00:12:29.680when Jesus multiplies the bread and 00:12:32.120feeds the 5,000 moving on to First and 2 00:12:34.839Chronicles the main prophecy here is 00:12:36.920that the Messiah would be from the tribe 00:12:38.560of Judah take a look at 1st Chronicles 00:12:41.2405:2 and of course you can make the 00:12:44.639reference yourself in the Book of Luke 00:12:47.3603: 00:12:48.83923-32 the book of Ezra he's revealed to 00:12:52.560be the faithful scribed he's typified in 00:12:54.880the person of zerubabel the Rebuilder of 00:12:57.519the temple the book of Nehemiah he is 00:13:00.519typified in the person of Nehemiah the 00:13:02.680Rebuilder of the walls of Salvation the 00:13:05.560Book of Esther he is typified in the 00:13:08.720person of Mori The Book of Job he is 00:13:11.560typified in the sufferings of job and 00:13:14.040moreover the blessings that would follow 00:13:16.639I won't get too much into typology I'll 00:13:20.160be doing another video on how every 00:13:22.360character of the Old Testament typifies 00:13:25.560Jesus moving on to the Psalms here we'll 00:13:28.880listen a few important ones the Messiah 00:13:31.000would be the Son of God take a look at 00:13:32.800Psalms 00:13:34.0402:7 it says I will proclaim the Lord's 00:13:36.800decree he said to me you are my son 00:13:39.240today I have become your father and of 00:13:41.880course we read in Matthew 17:5 while he 00:13:45.079was still speaking a bright Cloud 00:13:46.639covered them and a voice from the cloud 00:13:48.680said this is my son whom I love with him 00:13:52.040I am well pleased listen to him the 00:13:54.680Messiah would be resurrected take a look 00:13:56.800at Psalms 16 8:10 special emphasis on 00:14:00.240verse 10 because you will not abandon me 00:14:02.399to the realm of the Dead take a look at 00:14:04.839acts 13: 00:14:07.72030-37 noting the Messiah would be 00:14:10.880despised and crucified take a look at 00:14:13.160Psalms CH 22 but I am a worm and not a 00:14:16.240man scorned by everyone despised by the 00:14:19.040people all who see me mock me they hurl 00:14:21.680insults shaking their heads he trust in 00:14:24.480the Lord they say let the Lord rescue 00:14:26.880him let him deliver him since he Delight 00:14:29.279in him verse 6 to8 take a look at verse 00:14:32.36014 I am poured out like water and all my 00:14:35.000bones are out a joint my heart has 00:14:37.079turned to wax it has melted within me 00:14:39.440three more from the Psalms the Messiah 00:14:41.160would be hated without cause take a look 00:14:42.839at Psalms 00:14:44.24069:4 those who hate me without reason 00:14:46.639outnumbered the hairs of my head many 00:14:49.240are my enemies without cause those who 00:14:51.240seek to destroy me I am forced to 00:14:52.959restore what I did not 00:14:55.480steal the Messiah would be Lord seated 00:14:58.279at the right hand of God take a look at 00:15:00.199Psalms 110:1 the Lord says to my Lord 00:15:03.279sit at my right hand until I make your 00:15:05.480enemies a foot stol for your feet and of 00:15:08.199course one of the key moments in the New 00:15:10.480Testament the Messiah would be the stone 00:15:13.800rejected by the Jews at the time take a 00:15:16.680look at Psalms 00:15:18.839118:22 the stone the builders rejected 00:15:21.360had become the Cornerstone and of course 00:15:24.839what does Jesus say in Matthew 21: 42 00:15:27.440and 43 Jesus said to them have you never 00:15:30.360read in the scriptures the stone the 00:15:31.959builders rejected has become the 00:15:33.560Cornerstone the Lord has done this and 00:15:36.560it is marvelous in our eyes therefore I 00:15:39.440tell you that the kingdom of God will be 00:15:42.240taken away from you moving on to the 00:15:44.720Book of Proverbs and 00:15:46.680Ecclesiastes two main points here that 00:15:48.839the Messiah would be Everlasting take a 00:15:50.880look at Proverbs chapter 8 and that the 00:15:53.759Messiah would be the Son of God take a 00:15:56.199look at Proverbs 00:15:57.63930:4 in the Book of Solomon Jesus is 00:16:01.160typified as the lover and the bridegroom 00:16:04.519I will be doing a whole other video on 00:16:06.279Jesus the bridegroom and how the 00:16:08.720marriage ceremony of the time helps 00:16:11.120explain a lot of scripture now moving on 00:16:13.519to the book of Isaiah there are quite a 00:16:15.240few here the Messiah would be born a 00:16:17.560virgin take a look at Isaiah 7:14 00:16:20.600therefore the Lord himself will give you 00:16:22.120a sign the Virgin will conceive and give 00:16:24.279birth to a son and will call him Emanuel 00:16:27.199and of course you can find the parallel 00:16:28.759path passage in Luke 1: 00:16:31.16034-35 as well as he would be called 00:16:33.240Emanuel take a look at Matthew 1: 00:16:36.19921-23 and of course the Messiah would be 00:16:39.160God and man take a look at Isaiah 9:6 00:16:42.880for to us a child is born to us a son is 00:16:45.399given and the government will be on his 00:16:47.360shoulders and he will be called 00:16:48.920wonderful counselor Mighty God 00:16:51.600Everlasting father and Prince of Peace 00:16:54.560the Messiah would heal the blind lame 00:16:56.720and deaf take a look at Isaiah 35 : 5-6 00:17:00.920the Messiah would be preceded by a 00:17:02.560forerunner John the Baptist take a look 00:17:04.839at Isaiah 40:3 a voice of one calling in 00:17:08.039the wilderness prepare the way of the 00:17:09.559Lord make straight in the desert a 00:17:11.520highway for our God and of course take a 00:17:14.000look at Luke chap 1:1 00:17:15.91917 Isaiah 50:6 tells us that the Messiah 00:17:20.280will be whipped and beaten and of course 00:17:22.480we know the story of the crucifixion and 00:17:24.640of course Isaiah 53:10 yet it was the 00:17:28.199Lord's will to crush him and cause him 00:17:30.200to suffer and though the Lord makes his 00:17:32.440life an offering for sin he will see his 00:17:35.320offspring and prolong his days and the 00:17:38.080will of the Lord will prosper in his 00:17:40.240hand that is the Messiah would be 00:17:42.480resurrected and live forever and of 00:17:44.400course we know the story Jesus is risen 00:17:47.720from the dead and is currently alive 00:17:50.120moving on to Jeremiah and the Book of 00:17:52.760Lamentations there's a few good ones in 00:17:54.799here but one of the most important is 00:17:56.760that the Messiah would be God that's 00:17:58.559right take a look at Jeremiah 00:18:00.91923:6 in his days Judah will be saved and 00:18:04.360Israel will live in safety this is the 00:18:07.400name by which he will be called now 00:18:09.520listen carefully this is the name by 00:18:11.240which he will be called he will be 00:18:12.880called the Lord capital L which means 00:18:15.679Yahweh our righteous Savior and who is 00:18:18.679designated Savior Jesus that's right now 00:18:21.679moving on to the Book of Ezekiel the 00:18:24.080primary prophecy here is that the 00:18:25.520Messiah would be a descendant of King 00:18:27.400David take a look at his Ezekiel 34: 23 00:18:30.840and 24 where it says I will place over 00:18:33.320them one Shepherd my servant David and 00:18:35.559he will tent them he will tend them and 00:18:38.440be their Shepherd I the Lord will be 00:18:41.039their God and my servant David will be 00:18:43.840Prince among them I the Lord have spoken 00:18:47.360now taking a look at the Book of Ezekiel 00:18:49.240the main prophecy is that the Messiah 00:18:51.039would be a descendant of David take a 00:18:53.039look at Ezekiel CH 34 moving on to the 00:18:56.240Book of Daniel some very important ones 00:18:58.840here of course if you don't know one of 00:19:00.679the most popular passages in Daniel 7: 00:19:03.44013 and 14 in my vision at night I looked 00:19:06.799and there before me was one like a son 00:19:09.120of man coming with the Clouds Of Heaven 00:19:11.880he approached the Ancient of Days and 00:19:13.480was led into his presence he was given 00:19:15.960Authority glory and Sovereign power all 00:19:18.880the nations of the people now again I'll 00:19:21.360be doing a whole video on Daniel chapter 00:19:23.7997 specifically and what this means to 00:19:26.600help us understand a lot of the passages 00:19:29.120in the New Testament again in Daniel 00:19:32.0399:26 the Messiah the anointed one the 00:19:35.000Christ will be put to death the book of 00:19:37.679Hosea Jesus is typified as the 00:19:40.039bridegroom who is faithful like Hosea to 00:19:43.720his adulterous wife moving on to the 00:19:45.960Book of Joel one of the biggest messages 00:19:49.080and prophecies is that that the Messiah 00:19:51.080would baptize people with the Holy 00:19:52.520Spirit read Joel chapter 2 beginning in 00:19:55.360verse 28 moving on to the Book of Amos 00:19:58.240chapter 8:9 in that day declares The 00:20:00.600Sovereign Lord I will make the sun go 00:20:02.360down at noon and darken the Earth in 00:20:04.919broad daylight and this prophecy is 00:20:07.799fulfilled during the messiah's death 00:20:10.080take a look at Matthew 27: 00:20:13.0004546 Obadiah that he is the mighty 00:20:16.080savior the Book of Jonah just as Jonah 00:20:19.320was three days and three nights in the 00:20:20.840belly of the whale or the fish Jesus 00:20:23.400also says in Matthew 12:40 he too will 00:20:26.559be in the heart of the Earth for 3 days 00:20:29.600and three nights just as Jonah was in 00:20:31.880the belly of the fish now I will be 00:20:34.640doing another video on the Book of Jonah 00:20:37.000to help you answer the question how 00:20:38.720could Jonah survive in the belly of a 00:20:41.360fish moving on to the Book of Micah my 00:20:44.760favorite that the Messiah the Christ 00:20:47.480Yeshua Jesus will be born in Bethlehem 00:20:50.200Micah 5:2 and of course where is Jesus 00:20:52.919born take a look at Matthew 2:1-2 after 00:20:56.039Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea 00:20:58.679during the time of King Herod and by the 00:21:00.679way side note here what does Bethlehem 00:21:02.280mean House of Bread if you've been 00:21:04.679following along you know that Jesus said 00:21:06.640he was the bread of life he is the Mana 00:21:08.320or the bread from Heaven the book ofam 00:21:11.240Jesus is the Avenger of God's people the 00:21:14.880book of habac and forgive me if I got 00:21:17.520that wrong I always do the primary 00:21:20.120prophecy here is that Jesus when he 00:21:22.600returns will come from Taman take a look 00:21:25.640at habakuk 3:3 00:21:28.640the book of Zephaniah Jesus is the 00:21:30.919restorer of the remnant book of Hagi 00:21:34.480Jesus would visit the second temple and 00:21:37.039as you know when he was alive that was 00:21:40.320Israel's second temple take a look at 00:21:43.640Hagi chapter 2: 00:21:46.1596-9 the book of Zechariah there's a few 00:21:49.159here that the Messiah would be priest 00:21:51.120and king take a look at Zechariah 6: 00:21:55.12012-13 that the Messiah would ride into 00:21:57.480Jerusalem on a donkey I think we all 00:21:59.159know the story well in case you don't 00:22:00.760take a look at Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice 00:22:03.520greatly daughter Zion shout daughter 00:22:05.880Jerusalem see your king comes to you 00:22:08.080righteous and Victorious and Victorious 00:22:10.679lowly in riding on a donkey on a Colt 00:22:13.720the full of a dony take a look at 00:22:15.600Matthew 21: 6-9 and of course that the 00:22:20.000Messiah would be pierced take a look at 00:22:22.039Zechariah 00:22:23.64012:10 and finally The Book of Malachi 00:22:26.760the prophecies here will be that the 00:22:28.799Messiah would appear at the temple take 00:22:30.760a look at Malachi 3:1 I will send my 00:22:34.159messenger who prepare the way before me 00:22:36.919then suddenly the Lord you are seeking 00:22:38.760will come to his Temple the messenger of 00:22:41.400the Covenant whom you desire will come 00:22:43.960says the Lord Almighty and of course 00:22:46.559Jesus fulfills this in Mark 11:15 well 00:22:49.799there you have it at least one prophecy 00:22:52.600Andor illusion to Jesus in every book of 00:22:56.200the Old Testament Hi Guys... Let's talk about Jesus. A lot of people, when they think about Jesus, they just think about the New Testament, especially non-believers - people who are not Christians. They think that Jesus only appeared 2000 years ago when Mary gave birth to Him ... but is that true or is Jesus also in the Old Testament? Was He there? Was Jesus always there from the beginning? That is what we're going to look at in this video and it's going to be a very interesting one so let's not waste any more time - let's get to it! I would really love the support as well. Now, was Jesus always there from the beginning? Yes he was! [John 1:1] Remember this light versus dark because we'll talk about this at the end of the video as well. It's going to be very interesting to you. Now here we see that Jesus is also called the word with a capital letter W. [John 1:14] Now most of you who read your Bibles, you might remember that Satan rebelled against God and he was thrown down to earth, right? Let's read it. [Revelation 12:12-13] Now when this happened, Jesus was there. He was there when the devil was thrown down to earth. How do we know this? Because he told the disciples and he said to them [Luke 10:18-19] Jesus was always there. He is not limited by time just because his role is the Son of God. It doesn't mean that he's not God just because He came to Earth as a man it doesn't mean that he's not God. He's 100 percent man and 100 percent God. You need to understand this. He is not limited by time and that is why He also did not use the terms like past, present, and future. Those tenses. When He said, well listen to this [John 8: 51-59] Now here it comes. Listen very carefully. Wow, there is so much to unpack here but a point I want to make is Jesus said that before Abraham was I am - meaning he's not limited by time and he used the same words that he spoke back in the Old Testament. [Exodus 3:1-2] Now please take note here whenever you see the Angel of the Lord written in a capital letter, Angel that is pointing to Jesus, it is Jesus. Some of the versions, they got it wrong but the new King James version, the Amplified version as well, they got it right. Now let's continue [Exodus 3:4-6] So here you see Jesus establishing His authority as God. Now listen to this: [Exodus 3:13] Now let's connect this again with what Jesus is saying in the New Testament. [John 8:56-58] There is no doubt that Jesus was in the Old Testament as well. He appeared to certain people whenever the Bible uses the word the Angel of the Lord (Capital A) and that is Jesus. Certain translations got it wrong. Also sometimes he would be called the Lord when the Lord appeared. You need to get this - the whole Bible is about Jesus. Again we see this in [John 5:46]. Yes the Bible is full of prophecies about the Messiah that would come - about Jesus. But Jesus also physically appeared to people in the Old Testament. He was also there. Let me give you a few more examples. [Genesis 16:7-8, 13] [Genesis 22:11-12, 15-18] You know, it is interesting here... Abraham, it must have been really tough God asking him to sacrifice his only son and that is so unlike God. But Abraham passed a test and God never really wanted to kill Isaac but God ... this is also an example for us... God would then do this with His own son who would sacrifice His own son Jesus Christ to die for ourselves. Another example of Jesus in the Old Testament is in Judges [Judges 5:23] Jesus is called many things. You know that from reading scripture and if you don't read scripture it's time you do read it for yourself instead of just going to church and just listen blindly to what the preachers say. There are good preachers out there but there are also other preachers that you should not listen to. You have to read the Bible for yourself. Study it like the good Bereans daily. Jesus, as I said before, is also called the Son of God and He was also there with Daniel's friends in the fire. [Daniel 3:25] You need to understand this ... God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son are one. Jesus says in [John 10:30] Another example in the Old Testament in Genesis - God did not just talk about himself as "I" singular, but plural "us". Listen to this [Genesis 1:26] The "our" is not the Angels because we are not made in the likeness of Angels. We are created in the image of God. Jesus Christ is in the Old Testament and in the New Testament. When we go back to the Old Testament, darkness crept into the world through sin. Adam and Eve sinned against God and it separated us humankind from God. Because of our sin we cannot have a relationship with God who is Holy, who is perfect, who is pure. [Romans 3:23] Then God created the redemption plan, a way for us to once again walk with Him in a true relationship through His son Jesus Christ, who had to come down to earth to live a perfect life and to take all the punishment that we should have received for our sins, which is death, on Himself. He suffered, He took your sin and my sin on Himself and He died in our place so that now if we accept it, God now looks through Jesus at us because we are now justified if we become reborn Christians. [Romans 6:23] This is the Redemption plan that Jesus the Messiah would come and die for our sins and this Redemption plan, it was already put in place back in Genesis. [Genesis 3:15] This is Jesus that would be born from the line of the woman you'll read in other other passages and it becomes clear that this woman is Israel. [Revelation 12:1] That's the 12 tribes of Israel. [Revelation 12:2-3] This is the Redemption story. Jesus Christ that will be born from Israel The devil trying to bite the heel of the woman trying to stop Israel from bringing forth the Messiah, the baby Jesus Christ. [Revelation 12:13] This is why the Old Testament doesn't describe everything that happened in the past, but it follows Israel because Jesus would be born from the nation of Israel so the devil tried to stop him. This is a fight between good and evil, light and dark. Remember at the beginning of this video I told you I'll talk about the light versus dark so let's talk about this. The spiritual world influences the physical and we get a very good example in the Book of Daniel how evil forces are behind wars. Listen to this: [Daniel 10:1] [Daniel 10:10-12] Now here it comes... listen carefully. [Daniel 10:13-14] When you read the whole chapter you understand that Daniel was praying for 21 days and it was just silent. Gabriel had to come down to give Daniel the message but then he says the prince of Persia... that's a high-ranking demon behind the army of Persia came to withstood him so they they were battling against each other and then Michael the Archangel came to help Gabriel so that Gabriel could go and give the message to Daniel. There is a battle going on between good and evil, light and dark. We also see how the spiritual influences the physical and you need to understand this. [Ephesians 6:12]. You know, movies, TV series, and even games with the entertainment industry - we all see this battle between good and evil, light and dark. Only the way that they show it, is not really great especially for young innocent minds being brainwashed because we know who controls most of the entertainment industry. We here at DLM Christian Lifestyle, we want to bring truth back into entertainment. If you want to support us check out the video description down below. We just started a gaming company. There'll be more information for you there but when we look at this fight between darkness and the light, who is the true light. That is Jesus Christ and He's the only one that can overcome evil. [John 8:12] [1 John 3: 8] Satan tried to stop Israel with other nations. Darkness stirred them. Men from other nations to hate Israel to stop them from bringing forth the Messiah without even knowing it. Satan his demons working behind the scenes and then even later when Jesus was born. That dragon of old, Satan, he was working in Herod to kill Jesus but then of course the wise men, they were warned not to tell Herod. [Matthew 2:12] The devil's plan failed but again he tried to convince Herod to do the worst thing that it could possibly ever do - to try and stop Jesus. [Matthew 2:16-18] Ask yourself who is working that theory inside of Herod. There are so many more passages that we can read but I think you get it now that Jesus was there in the Old Testament. He's there in the New Testament. The whole Bible is about Jesus. Jesus is the Word Himself. He's the way, He's the truth, and He is the life, and no one can go to the Father except through Him. [John 14: 6] If you are still living in darkness, I want to invite you today while you still have time to turn to the light. To turn to Jesus Christ, because He came to save you because He loves you, even now as a sinner He still loves you. [Romans 5:8] Now if you want to know more about who Jesus really is, then watch these videos here and I'll see you there. And before you go, always always remember, God loves you, and I love you too!
